#Flashback Friday - Chaos is what you make out of it

Written by Philipp Schmitt | 27 February 2015

I’ve been working for almost 15 years, and il be dammned. I don’t really know if I feel older, more skilled, more professional or just advanced in years. But one thing I know for sure: I’m glad for the technological advances we have now. The chaotic work conditions of the past are no more.

Chaos will always exist - If not on my desk, then at the desk of my colleagues. But chaos is what you make out of it. There are a lot of ways to deal with it: You can ignore it, affront it, forward it, postpone it, delay it, or – but this needs the most effort of all – fight it.

Very often I think about what really has improved in the last 15 years since I began my career as a business professional. There have been a lot of improvements in technology in the time between. This has helped shape a smarter world, but the other side of the coin is the more we improve our technology, the more data files appear, the more memory space we need with different programs to control our lives. Chaos simply develops out of the daily tasks of our everyday lives.

A superior way of work allows a path of organizational systems and logic to create and retrieve what is needed. Chaos will proceed month by month, year by year and decade by decade until we are seemingly drowning in our work. Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

Yes, there is. By centralizing work materials, and giving all employees the option to contribute to a steadily growing system, the idea of chaos is significantly diminished.
“Of course. Why didn’t I think earlier of it” you want to say.
Having a central platform for data storage saves a lot of time. All of my colleagues have access to the system and can proceed on their tasks easily online. This is what I call a cosmos.

The time I save is the most valuable aspect of Bynder software. Chaos is what you make out of it. It will always exist – If not on my desk, then on the desk of others.
