Here at Bynder, we’re starting 2019 stronger than ever after experiencing record growth in 2018. Beginning last year with the strategic acquisition of Webdam in February, we finished the year with a company-best Q4 that was driven by new product updates, a rapidly growing client base, a hugely successful OnBrand event, and the introduction of a new Chief Product Officer, Kevin Broom, to the executive team.

In numbers, 2018 saw Bynder experience nearly 30% year-over-year growth in new clients secured, in addition to a 40% increase in annual recurring revenue compared to 2017.

Customer wins

Aside from expanding relationships with existing accounts, Bynder welcomed a total of 115 new clients worldwide in Q4, providing an impressive finish to an already record-breaking year of company growth.

With these additions, Bynder now empowers over 1,500 brands worldwide with our digital asset management service.

A wealth of product upgrades

In Q4, Bynder unveiled a series of product updates and enhancements, expanding the platform’s capabilities and making it easier than ever for marketing and branding professionals to create and manage their assets.

Bynder introduced a new 360° Image Viewer to give users a unique experience with their images, maintaining Bynder’s continued focus to stay on top of the latest tech developments. What’s more, an updated Wordpress integration was implemented to enable users to upload documents, videos and audio clips—in addition to images—as well as public video derivatives, allowing users to publish smaller versions of video files, without compromising confidentiality.

Bynder also introduced a variety of features that provides more seamless, self-serviced asset management at every stage of the content lifecycle, including the ability to restore deleted files; independently manage their taxonomy with smart filter management; ensure their assets are completely up-to-date with automatic CloudFront invalidation, and gain data insights into their Bynder portal’s usage and storage with Cockpit.

Industry events stronger than ever

In October, Bynder hosted its fourth annual OnBrand event, bringing together the brightest minds in marketing, branding and tech, with speakers from some of the world’s most iconic brands. Boasting an astounding 1500% growth in attendance since its 2015 kickoff, with talks from the likes of National Geographic, Amazon, Refinery29 and TOMS, OnBrand'18 cemented its status as Europe’s leading branding conference.

Following its own successful event, Bynder also presented at OnBoard 2018 alongside leading brands such as IBM, HP and Netflix.

Company growth and culture

In Q4, Kevin Broom joined Bynder as Chief Product Officer, bringing over 20 years of executive experience in product, tech and global operations. Stationed in New York, Kevin will manage all product and technology initiatives globally.

"It has been an unprecedented year of growth at Bynder. Even as the company grows, we never lose sight of our mission to inspire creativity and collaboration by providing brands with a platform that powers their organization,” says Bob Hickey, COO of Bynder.

“We remain committed to working closely with our clients to offer a superior solution that works for them. 2019 is poised to be an extremely exciting year for our company and technology, and we can’t wait to continue building on this momentum."
